Managing the Diabetic Patient
Tuesday 8th August 2023, 12pm-2pm AEST
Diabetes has quickly become one of the most diagnosed metabolic diseases within the Animal Care Industry. Owners will often find the diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus overwhelming, and they won’t always feel comfortable sharing these thoughts with the Veterinarian. As Nurses, we have the skills and knowledge to be able to help the owner and ensure they are able to do what they need to do to care for their newly diagnosed cat or dog. In this webinar we will be looking at:
• Pathophysiology of Diabetes Mellitus
• Clinical signs and symptoms of Diabetes
• Diagnostics performed
• Treatment Options
• Nursing care
• How to perform nurse consults
The aim of this webinar is to have you feeling confident in your knowledge of diabetes, your ability to provide high end nursing care to their patients and have the awareness that nurses can play a vital role in supporting the diabetic patient, their owner and their Vet.
This session will be recorded and accessible after the fact if you are unavailable on the day. However, as this is an interactive workshop we recommend attending live if at all possible to gain the full benefits.
Access to the online course with materials, recording and quiz for your certificate will be available for three months following the workshop date.
